Frozen Berry a-type infection concerns(냉동 Berry A형 감염우려)

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said on Wednesday it has launched a hepatitis A and norovirus test for frozen and berry-like berries such as strawberries, raspberries and blackberries.

The survey includes more than 2,000 samples of imported species, as well as berry species cultivated in the United States.

The FDA said the study was conducted in an epidemiological survey of cases of frozen berry-related diseases reported between 1997 and 2016.

Experts warned that berry worms can also be contaminated if they are infected with hepatitis A or Norovirus, or if they use contaminated water or unsavory collection tools.

Most of these products are consumed without cooking process in smoothies, so if there are problems, it is pointed out that there is a high risk of infection.
